Lyra Barnes Pointer decided to share her daughter's story with the hope that those who might be facing what she experienced will receive comfort, insights, and inspiration from reading it. She holds a BA from Stetson University and an MA in English from Texas A&M University. Now retired after 30 years of teaching, she lives with her youngest daughter and her family in Houston, Texas.
