Marketing and promotional strategies are developed by companies to get a leg up on their competition and to get you to try their products. One of the best ways to get the general public to buy certain products is to give free samples along with discount coupons or by enticing the customer with buy one, get one free offers.

The word free sample is like a magnet. It catches the eyes first, then the heart, and then the mind. A free sample, along with a coupon, does work for manufacturers and stores because if people like the sample products, they will purchase them at regular prices if they see them in a store.

The internet is full of free stuff and free sample web sites that offer products that include computer software, food and other grocery items, magazines, clothes, medicine, toys, books, movies, CD's, pet foods, detergent, makeup, and many other useful household items.

You can find free hand bags, crystal products, glassware, silverware, pots and pan, and offers of free services such as carpet cleaning, pest control products, car care items, watches, and the list goes on and on.

There are literally thousands of such online sites that offer ways to get free merchandise. You just have to know where to look, what to look for, and keep your mind open to all possibilities. Some internet sites offer free samples by mail and all you have to do is sign up for them.

And free does not end there. Other ways to save money or to purchase product for free or nearly free is to use coupons or by purchasing products that offer manufacturer's rebates.

You may be surprised to learn how many people use free samples as a way of saving money. The word free means not having to pay for something and that, in itself, is the motivation to get as much free stuff as possible.

Beware! Free does not always mean absolutely free. Not all services and products are actually free just because they are advertised as such. Some free samples are given in return for your spending your money on something else.

Free samples are usually sent out in the mail but sometimes they are given at stores and other venues.
