Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be residing in Alabama.
Basis for selection: Applicant must demonstrate financial need.

Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program

Eligibility Requirements: Must be high school senior, U.S. citizen residing in Alabama. Must show
high academic achievement and be nominated by guidance counselor.
Intended use: For full time undergraduate study at 2 year or 4 year institution.

Alabama G.I. Dependents Scholarship Program
Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs
Type of award: Scholarship, renewable
Intended Use: For undergraduate study at postsecondary institution. Designated institutions: Alabama public institutions.
Eligibility Requirements: For dependents of disabled veterans, prisoner of war or MIA veterans. Must be a resident of Alabama and enrolled or expected to enroll at a 2 or 4 year college or university or a technical institution in Alabama. Veteran must have served at least 90 days continuous active federal duty. Disabled veteran must be rated at least 20 percent disabled due to service-connected disabilities. Veteran must have been a resident of Alabama at least one year prior to enlistment.

Police/Firefighters' Survivors Educational Assistance Program
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate study at vocational, 2-year or 4-year institution.
Eligibility Requirements: Must be residing in Alabama. Applicant's parent must have been killed or disabled in work-related accident as firefighter or police officer.
Application requirements: Proof of eligibility.Additional Information: Grant covers full tuition, mandatory fees, books, and supplies. Available to eligible spouses.
