American Legion Oratorical Contest
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate study at accredited postsecondary institution in the United States.
Eligibility: Applicant must be enrolled in high school. Applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in Kansas.
Additional information: Awards: First place, $1,500 provided by national organization; second place, $500; third place, $250; fourth place, $150.
Amount of award: $150-$1,500

Chapter 52 - Wichita Scholarship
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate or graduate study at accredited 2-year, 4-year or graduate institution in the United States. Designated institutions: Kansas, Oklahoma, or Missouri institutions.
Eligibility: Applicant must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident or Canadian resident.
Additional information: First preference given to children, grandchildren, or other relatives of current SME Wichita Chapter 52 members. Second preference given to residents of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Third preference given to applicants attending colleges or universities in Kansas. Minimum 2.5 GPA. Amount of award: $1,000-$2,000
