Eligibility Requirements:
Scholarship for freshman, sophomore, junior and senior
years of college. Applicant
must be a high school student,
living and studying in
Massachusetts with a 3.5 GPA
or higher. Must commit to
teach for four years in
Massachusetts public schools.
John F. Kennedy Scholars Award
Massachusetts Democratic Party
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For junior or senior study at 4-year institution.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be
18, no older than 23.
Additional information: Applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in Massachusetts. Preference given to registered Democrats and students with 3.0 GPA or higher.
Amount of Award: $1,500
Application deadline: Awarded to one male and one female at Massachusetts Democratic State Convention.

Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate study at postsecondary institution.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be residing in Massachusetts. Applican must be dependent of veteran or deceased veteran.
Additional information: Applicant must be child of living or deceased veteran not eligible for Federal or Commonwealth scholarships.

Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For freshman study at 2-year or 4-year institution.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant or parent must be member/participant of American Legion. Applicant must be residing in Massachusetts. Applicant must be descendant of veteran; or dependent of veteran.
Additional information: Grandchildren of American Legion Department of Massachusetts members also eligible.

Adolescent and Youth Undergraduate Award

Eligibility Requirements: Award supports research on youth and adolescent development by undergraduate students. Data can be used by students to develope and answer research questions related to courese work. Award for use on freshman, sophomore, junior and senior years.
Paul Tsongas Scholarship Program
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate study at accredited postsecondary institution. Designated institutions: Massachusetts state colleges and universities.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in Massachusetts.
Additional information: Minimum 3.75 GPA and SAT score of 1200. Must maintain 3.3 GPA for renewal.

Intended use: For full-time undergraduate study at accredited 2-year or 4-year institution. Designated institutions: Massachusetts colleges and universities.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in Massachusetts. Applicant must be dependent of deceased veteran or POW/MIA.
Additional information: Children of deceased firefighters, police officers, or corrections officers aslo eligible.
