Scholarships For Men
There are many scholarships and grants available for male students to help pay for college tuition and other college related expenses. Below is a partial list of scholarships and that are given by businesses, the government, private citizens, schools, churches, and other organizations.
Hall/McElwain Merit Scholarship
Type of Award: Scholarship.
Intended use: For undergraduate study at postsecondary institution.
Eligibility: Applicant must be male.
Application requirements: Applicant must demonstrate leadership. Recommendations, proof of eligibility.
Additional information: Applicant must be eagle scout. Must have strong record of participation in activities outside of scouting.

John A. High Child Welfare Scholarship
Type of Award: Scholarship.
Intended use: For freshman study at postsecondary institution.
Eligibility: Applicant must be male, high school senior. Must be residing in New Hampshire.
Application requirements: Recomendations, essay, transcript.
Additional information: Parent must be member of American Legion New Hampshire Auxiliary for three consecutive years.

Herbertus W.V. Wellens Scholarship For Male Students
Type of Award: Scholarship, renewable.
Intended use: For full-time undergraduate or graduate study at accredited 2-year, 4-year or graduate institution in United States.
Eligibility: Applicant must be male. Applicant must be U.S. citizen.
Application requirements: Essay, transcript, proof of eligibility. Two recommendations from teachers or professors in field of study. Financial aid forms. Proof of enrollment. Application for admission.
Additional information: Major/career interest in engineering: chemistry; physics or mathematics. Minimum 2.5 GPA for undergraduates and 3.0 GPA for graduate students.
Amount of award: $2,000-$3,000

Lillie Lois Ford Boys' Scholarship
Type of Award: Scholarship.
Intended use: For full-time under graduate study at postsecondary institution.
Eligibility: Applicant must be male, single, no older than 20. Applicant must be residing in Missouri. Applicant or parent must be member of/participant of American Legion, Boys State. Applicant must be descendant of veteran who served in the Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy or Coast Guard. Go to website for further information.

Additional information: Must have attended complete session of American Legion Boys State or American Legion Department of Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy.

American Legion Wisconsin Eagle Scout of the Year Scholarship
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended Use: For undergraduate study at postsecondary institution.
Eligibility: Applicant must be male. Must be residing in Wisconsin. Applicant or parent must be member/participant of American Legion/Boys Scouts of America.
Basis for selection: Applicant must demonstrate high academic achievement.
Application requirements: Applicant must be a Boy Scout, Varsity Scout or Exployer. Applicant's group must be sponsored by Legion, Auxiliary, or Sons of American Legion, spplicant's father or grandfather must be Legion or Auxiliary member.

Eagle Scout Of The Year Scholarship
Type of award: Scholarship.
Intended use: For undergraduate study at accredited postsecondary institution.
Eligibility: Applicant must be male, at least 15 and residing in Iowa. Applicant or parent must be member/participant of Boy Scouts of America, Eagle Scouts. Must be a registered, active member of a troop, Varsity Scout Team, or Venturing Crew chartered to American Legion Post, Auxiliary Unit, or Sons of American Legion Squadron; or be a registered, active member of Boy Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team, or Venturing Crew and the son or grandson of an American Legion or Sons of American Legion member.
Basis for selection: Applicant must demonstrate service orientation.
Application requirements: Proof of eligibility, transcript, recommendations.
Additional information: Awarded on recommendation of Boy Scout Committee to boy scout who demonstrates outstanding service to religious institution, school, and community. Must have received Eagle Scout Award.

Eligibility: Applicant must be high school senior, Applicant must be male. Must be U.S. citizen residing in New Jersey.
Basis for selection: Major/career interest in dentistry.
Additional information: Applicant must be Eagle Scout. Preference given to Scouts whose service projects relate to the environment or economy.
