Eligibility Requirements:
Applicant must be a resident
of South Dakota. Renewable
scholarship for undergraduate
study a vocational or four year

South Dakota Ardell Bjugstad Scholarship
Type of award: Scholarship.
Intended use: For freshman study study at accredited postsecondary institution in United States.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be American Indian. Must be member of federally recognized Indian tribe whose reservation is in South Dakota or North Dakota. Applicant must be U.S. citizen residing in South Dakota or North Dakota.
Application requirements: Recommendations, transcript. Verification of tribal enrollment.
Additional information: Transcript must include class rank and cumulative GPA.
Amount of award: $500

American Legion South Dakota Auxiliary Nurse's Scholarship
Type of award:Scholarship
Intended use:For undergraduate study at postsecondary institution.
Eligibility:Applicant or parent must be member/participant of American Legion Auxiliary. Applicant must be at least 16, no older than 22. Applicant must be residing in South Dakota. Applicant must be dependent of veteran.
Additional information: Applicant must have Major/career interest in nursing.

American Legion South Dakota Oratorical Contest
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate study at postsecondary institution.
Eligibility: Applicant must be enrolled in high school. Applicant must be residing in South Carolina.
Additional information: Competition/talent/interest in oratory/debate, based on language style, voice, diction, delivery, originality, logic, breadth of knowledge, application of knowledge about topic, and skill in selecting examples and analogies.
Application requirements: Proof of eligibility.

majoring in education. Applicant must be residing in South Dakota
Application requirements: Proof of eligibility, Resume, two-two page essays: one describing personal philosophy and another describing philosophy of education. Applicant must have 2.5 GPA.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be U.S. citizen residing in South Dakota. Applicant must be high school senior.
Application requirements: Recommendations, essay, transcript, proof of eligibility, ACT scores.
Additional information: Open to high school seniors who have accumulative 3.0 GPA after three years. Applicants must select elementary education as a major field.

Type of award: Scholarship.
Intended use: For full-time junior study at accredited 4-year institution in United States. Designated institutions: Public institutions in South Dakota.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be residing in South Dakota.
Application requirements: Nomination by participating South Dakota public university. Essay explaining leadership and academic qualities, career plans, and educational interests.
Additional information: Applicant must have minimum 3.5 GPA. Must be sophomore at time of application. Each South Dakota public university may nominate one student.
