Robert C. Byrd Scholarship
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate study at vocational, 2-year or 4-year institution.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be high school senior. Applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in Texas.
Application requirements: Transcript, nomination by high school guidance counselor or GED-center director.
Additional information: Those completing GED eligible to receive initial award only. Must be in top ten percent of class.

Texas Future Farmers of America Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate study at accredited 4-year institution in United States. Designated institutions: Colleges and universities in Texas.
Eligibility: Applicant must be high school senior. Applicant must be U.S. citizen residing in Texas.

Additional information: Must be current member of Texas FFA in good stancing. Must have graduated from Texas public high school in top fourth of class. Cannot have applied for scholarship through Texas 4-H or FCCLA.

Educational Aide Exemption
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate or graduate study at accredited postsecondary institution. Designated institutions: Public colleges and universities in Texas.
Eligibility: Applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in Texas. Application requirements: Proof of certification by Texas Board of Teacher Certification as a Certified Aide. FAFSA.
Additional information: Applicant must have applied for financial aid through college of attendance, including filing FAFSA or qualifying based on income. Major/career interest in education, early childhood; education, special or education, teacher.

Texas Legion Oratorical Contest
Type of award: Scholarship
Intended use: For undergraduate study at postsecondary institution.
Eligibility: Applicant must be no older than 18. Applicant must be enrolled in high school. Applicant must be residing in Texas.
Additional information: Competition/talent/interest in oratory/debate, based on language style, voice, diction, delivery, originality, logic, breadth of knowledge, application of knowledge about topic, and skill in selecting examples and analogies.
