Alcatraz Island and Former Prison
Located in the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island
has become a major tourist attraction for people visiting
the City of San Francisco. Alcatraz served as a federal prison
until 1963. The prison served as a lock down for well known
criminals such as Al Capone, "Machine Gun" Kelly, James "Whitey" Bulger
and Robert Franklin Stround, known as the Birdman of Alcatraz.
