Crossing San Francisco Bay from Oakland to San Francisco
is an experience in itself. The beauty of the bay, the areas surrounding Oakland
and San Francisco makes crossing the Bay Bridge a must for vacationers
and tourists. It is the direct road between Oakland and San Francisco
and one of the longest span bridges in the world with an upper and lower deck
for traffic flowing in both directions. Built between 1933 and 1936,
close to 300,000 vehicles cross the bridge every day.
